America/Japan - Fail debut of Disneyland
An excited America invites Japan to attend the debut of Disneyland on July 17, 1955. Unfortunately, Murphy's Law runs rampant during the opening day - temperatures are over 100 degrees and water fountains don't work, park is overcrowded thanks to bogus tickets having been sold, asphalt is still wet, a gas leak causes some sections of the park to close for the afternoon, etc. - so much that that day becomes known as "Black Sunday" to many Disneyland workers.
Fortunately, Japan ends up still enjoying the experience overall (he must have, considering that he opened the first Disneyland outside of the US in 1985). Mainly because it's still an opportunity to spend time with his crush/best friend.
Doesn't have to be straight-up romance - them just being friends is fine - but please do make it fluffy and hilarious either way!
