Japan in a priestess costume (you know the one), banishing the ghosts from US's house. How US blackmailed/coaxed/bribed/convinced Japan to come is totally up to anon. Anyways, Japan totally doesn't believe in what he's doing, and in the ritual, makes a crucial mistake because of carelessness.
Mainly, the ghost gets out and possesses Japan. Unsurprising Twist? The ghost is female, and refuses to leave Japan's body before she can sleep with her lover one last time. Aaaaaaaaaaand her long-dead lover looks exactly like US. Cliche anon is cliched
