[Hukomi] They travel around the world in a tandem
[ENG] Aurore & Marianne rode their tandem all around France last summer and they were at my home in August 2011 <3
Marianne and I first met on a RPG forum and my login at that time was Libellule, the French for Dragonfly.
These girls are just ADOOOOOOORABLE ! Open-minded, humble and sweet sweet sweet <3 They are long-time friends and travelling is part of their dreams, they're a few years younger than me but I think they're extremely mature. This dream of theirs had been cherished and prepared for 2 years before they made it true. France was the first step and from our conversations, they were supposed to go through Northen Italy before entering the "-stan" countries. Well, if you read them on their blog, Hukomi, you'll see that they're currently in... Canada!
Back to the main topic : their visit in Lille ! Coincidentally, my Mom was there too for their first night, lots of people at home at once ! My friends and I had some hamburgers and French fries. Aurore's appetite is as good as mine and she was king of craving those French fries because here near the Belgian border, we have boots selling only French fries, the "friteries". And they told me they saw one and smiled, then an other one and an other one and so on xD
The morning after, I woke up super early to take my Mom to the train station, came back with croissants and we had a nearly English breakfast : hot chocolate with actual chocolate, cereals, baked beans and they had me taste the famous British marmite. Always heard of it, never tasted, I was very curious. It's super salty XP
I wanted to have them eat a carbonnade flamande for lunch but the restaurant was closed, grrrrr! Nevermind, it was sunny and we had a long long walk in all Lille. They brought some blinis and TARAMA, yummy ! I made some more blinis to finish it up and we had a chocolate fondue ! *still drooling* There was an apple, a pear, a banana and a pound of strawberries and it was perfect for the quantity of chocolate I made. That was DELICIOUS, the mix of dark and milk chocolate is not too sweet and the little candle really keeps it just the right temperature.
We talked a lot about their travel, the people they met and I even made a little tarot reading for them.
I only had a day off so they already left the morning after while I was heading for work TT_TT I think of you girls, take care of yourselves !
