Happy birthday to Dae Sung, a vocalist of the popular Korean group Big Bang, who turns 20 today!!
Overview: A five-member hip-hop group that made its debut in August 2006 under YG entertainment, Big Bang has steadily risen to fame and popularity among fans worldwide. In Korea, they have numerous number one singles, and in 2008 the success of their second album Remember resulted in their second Daesang Artist of the Year award, beating out super-idol group TVXQ. Their ventures in Japan have not been completely successful but their fame is slowly climbing. To date, they have released 3 singles, a digital single, 3 mini-albums, 2 albums, and 3 live albums in Korea, and 2 mini-albums and 1 full album in Japan. Additionally, the members have all participated in solo activities, including releasing their own albums, mini-albums, and singles, and appearing in television dramas.
Latest News/Releases: In early 2009, the group took a short break in which the individual members pursued solo activities. G-Dragon began working on a solo mini-album to be released sometime in 2009, while T.O.P is currently filming the Korean drama Iris and Seung Ri’s drama Why Did You Come to Our House? Concluded filming and was aired in April. The group joined up for the release of a joint digital single with YG’s new girl group 2NE1 in March titled Lollipop. On April 22, they released their third concert album, 2009 Big Bang Concert Live Album - Big Show.

My Opinion: Big Bang has stolen my soul *_* I mean, a piece of it, because a lot of people have stolen my soul. But srsly. Their music is so great! I love their kind of dance-hip-hop style. It’s so much fun! And these boys are so talented. The vocalists have fabulous voices, and the rappers are really awesome. And the fact that they compose like all of their music makes them even better. Seriously, if you haven’t already tried these guys out, you don’t know what you’re missing. I mean it. >_>
Lollipop feat. 2NE1: Holy crap! This video is like COLOR OVERDOSE! Everyone is wearing ridiculously bright outfits and the scenery is flashing colors. It’s like *_*. But! I like this song. I don’t care that much for 2NE1’s part (I don’t think they are the female Big Bang) but they do work well together and the song came out to be a lot of fun! I like it a lot.

Nal Bwa, Gwisun (Gwisun, Look at Me): Ahh, trot music. How it’s so much fun. xD It’s much less melancholy than Japanese enka music. I love Dae Sung’s outfit in this performance! Lololol. And the ridiculous dance. It’s kind of hard to believe he’ was 19 in this video! Haha he’s so adorable with his tiny eyes! Well it’s a trot song but it’s totally a lot of fun and Dae Sung sings really well so I totally enjoy it. Definitely give it a shot! This perf merges into a hip-hop section (with a sexy dance) that totally isn’t part of the original song but I’m totally okay with it being there. xD;

Big Hit!!: Yay! More Dae Sung trot! This song is less ridiculous (probably because I’m not watching a perf of it right now xD) but the lyrics are fun, haha. I like it! It’s not as exciting a listen as Nal Bwa Gwisun, but it’s fun nonetheless.
