[American Fanart] Spiderman & R2D2

Aug 07, 2016 00:00

It started out with the Courage The Corwardly Dog brown bag I drew for my daughter in my last post. My hubby, whom I am married for a quite a while, and supposedly knows that I draw, looked at it with somewhat a surprised expression.  He stated "I guess you really can draw".  (-_-) Fine then I will show YOU!  We were invited to go to my daughter's ( Read more... )

That's hilarious. I have always thought of you as an artist. I can draw a little but I'm lazy. I was always admiring how much time and effort you put into your craft.

When I showed my friends, they were all like..."I knew you did cartoon thingy, but you really can draw!" Their reaction was all like that, which I found very interesting.

My job and child raising takes up most of my time...so I can only put in so much time into my art, unfortunately. I'm lazy too but I like it so much I don't want to lose it (^_^)

Your "American" art is just as awesome as your "Japanese" art. It's absolutely no surprise to me. :-)

I'm sorry the situation happened with your friend. Asking to buy something that was done for someone else does seem a little tactless, even though she probably didn't realize it. I hope it doesn't make things awkward for you.

You would be surprised how much "I knew you drew cartoon thing but I didn't know you really can draw!" reaction I got from people I showed it to! Just made me wonder how little "cartoon thingy" is being recognized by general population around here.

I think my irritation also largely came from the fact that she doesn't care for anime/comic things at all to begin with (though she is from Taiwan, from my understanding, where Japanese anime/comic is very popular). She made a comment to me long time ago when she saw me reading Japanese comic that she was surprised that actual grown-up adult reads comics. But she has money and she would flip a bill as business...no thank youuuuuu ('O')

Both of those are amazing. I'm surprised at your husband, even if he doesn't like anime he should know how good your work is!

Well, he is a man after all...his sight is very fixated and he doesn't pay very well attention to the things he is not interested (^o^)

*hugs* it's beautiful and I understand completely. I feel like that when I sing. I love to sing, more so, I love to sing around family and friends. It just means more to me to be able to share that part of myself with people I love and care about. Plus it's fun to sing intentionally off-key and get laughs out of them.

I was singing with a friend of mine at work, when we thought we were alone and then someone walked in. Said we sounded good and to continue, I said no that's ok. It just didn't feel right. People may say what are you scared for, and why not do it, but I just don't want to. I have horrible stage fright too ^__^'

Yeah I would have taken things like this more personally when I was younger but I am long past it...and I just chuckle and ignore, and move on (^o^)
