Tonight, my dad described the year after the Beatles released Revolver while everyone waited for a new album. A year was so long between albums back when...but then the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and it fucking blew everyone's mind. Can you imagine that?! Can you imagine the first time people heard that music. I almost cried thinking about that. I love hearing my dad describe his twenties.
All I can relate to that is remembering the first time I heard Outkast's Stankonia compared to Aquemini. It still blows my mind how good it is.
Addendum: After that my dad suggested that we hang out and listen to Rubber Soul on vinyl. I guess I have to bring the pot.
