Wine
People out here love giving wine as a gift.
It's easy to see why. Cheap wine is really cheap, sophisticated wine is really sophisticated, and nobody much knows the difference in between.
Anytime I host a get-together, half the attendees will bring along a bottle of wine as their contribution to the event. Nobody actually drinks it (or those that do, will drink like one glass), so by evening's end I have a massive surfeit of unopened bottles sitting around.
Which is great, because now I have something to take to other people's houses for the next few months.
