Last night I went to a gathering of Atlanta folks who came to hang out with the ever-elusive
birdofparadox and a good time was had by all.
Today I shampooed about 1/4 of the carpet in my room. Then I spackled the wall where the dartboard used to hang. I'm not that bad at darts, but I don't play the game properly most of the time. I stand about 10 feet back or more and wind up like a baseball pitcher. I'm moderately accurate, but when I miss I miss badly. So those holes are all filled up now, and tomorrow I'll be repainting that wall. New Year's Day is probably going to be spent sleeping and going to a movie, so I'm just calling that whole day lost, but come Monday I'll be moving furniture into its new locations. When I get that done I'll move more furniture into temporary locations so I can shampoo another 1/4 of my carpet and then put all that stuff back, including a new DVD rack that I haven't assembled yet.
Eventually I'll have to move all my computer stuff. This is a daunting notion.
I've also been playing around with DVD Architect some (one of my Christmas presents). It looks interesting, but I need to start looking into compression and how to get decent video quality. I'm overdoing the first one...about 3 hours of video on one disc, which is too much, and it's going to get recompressed to hell, but it's just a baseball game. Good to experiment on before I get to stuff I actually care about saving.
Tonight I'm going to work and then to see King Kong. I have a coupon that will expire at the end of the year, otherwise I'd just come home.
