Today I'm spending the day doing laundry in preparation for going to the
National Audio Theatre Festivals Audio Theatre Workshop (say that 3 times fast). It's being held in West Plains, MO, which is basically out in the middle of not-much-of-anywhere.
It's a week long workshop that has classes on various aspects of how to do audio drama, including performance, writing, and technical aspects. There's things about how to market and fund projects, a scriptwriting workshop, classes on how to do Foley sound effects, recording sound effects "in the field", and even a class on how to do 5.1 surround sound.
I went last year and it was pretty neat...although 7 or 8 other folks from
ARTC also came and this year it's just me and one other person, who is actually attending as an instructor, so we'll see how much fun I think it is this year.
I'll be leaving early Sunday morning, so if you notice that there have been no journal entries (yes, all 3 of you who read this) then that's why.
Possibly more later...
