She won't relinquish herself to you, and I sense an emergency
I know it's been far too long since a real live sweat and tears update. It's all links and photographs mostly. I've been wanting to update the more traditional way for a while but I've been busy being outdoors and dancing. And then when I go on the computer I get really distracted by all the porn I download. And to be honest, the only real reason I'm updating now is because The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are on hiatus this week, so I got some time to kill.
Usually right now I'd be knocked out cold on my queen size....but my final shift at RoofRoc was on June 22nd. I had been really looking forward to that day finally coming, even starting a big countdown on the whiteboard under the obscenely large clock. But then my final week started and when Thursday approached I was really sentimental all day and strangely I kinda wanted to stay. It didn't really help that my supervisor had erased the countdown on the board and replaced it with some sweet words, those being:
Today is Josh's LAST DAY!
We will not count the hours
We will not count the minutes
We will count the memories
We will miss him
We will wish him well
Not being one to show emotion all that often in public, (set up a camera in my room when I'm watching the last half of Philadelphia if you wanna see me tear up all the time) I just pretended I didn't see the message. It really is a nice feeling to know you're appreciated, it's another thing to be told outright that you are, I thought it was a really sweet sentiment. 8 and a half months of work that didn't really feel like work, once I figure out how to work my scanner I'll have to post of the pictures of my RoofRoc friends. I'll certainly miss the lot of 'em.
So I'm unemployed now for the summer and have nothing but time on my hands, I need to spend more time at the library like I had planned and I need to reacquaint myself again with my friends, so anyone with spare time ready for a good time don't hesitate to call me. shirts optional.
My brother is over in Europe right now, gone until July 23. My sister is in Toronto for the next week and doesn't even live here anymore. I think I'll take a trip out to Nicaragua soon hopefully and help my uncle build his house there.
Ryan's posthumous birthday celebration is taking place July 15th, festivities starting at 3pm and I'm sure going deep into the next day. I'm looking forward to it for obvious reasons, seeing all the people I need to say, but then I'm not looking forward to it for obvious reasons. Mrs Long's birthday is tomorrow, I'll have to give her a call.
I now officially have over 100 films in my personal collection, I can't own enough.
You know there's a lot to be said for humility. Really, honestly, truly.
Once I start speaking in one line fragments it's time to get going while the going is mediocre. I'll get on my own ass over the summer to update this fucker, I'll let you all know what I'm up to, or you can all just be a part of it so it makes it a little more interesting.
I need a robe for that supposed Lebowski party at the end of the month, to The Village it is.
