I copied this from a friend's LJ. If I lived in the raliegh area, I would totally be at this!... but, Thursday is a school night *sigh* and Raleigh is 3 hours away.
"THURSDAY, Oct. 16: Speak out for Marriage Equality and Candlelight vigil
7pm at Fayetteville St. Mall in Raleigh (in front of the post office, next to the court house) Bring a candle and/or sign in favor of marriage equality.
George W. Bush has issued a presidential Proclamation declaring Oct. 12-18 "Marriage Protection Week.” Marriage Protection Week is an anti-LGBT campaign organized by a coalition of 21 right wing organizations--the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America, among others. This peaceful demonstration is being in support of equality for the LGBT community.
