Hoorah and great job to NASA, the shuttle crews and those of Apollo, Gemini, Mercury all the subcontractors and scientists and engineers and the bloke what cleaned the windows. Welcome back and happy retirement Atlantis. The Brits manufactured the shark repellant for the Apollo programme so we played our part too :)
Cruised up to Bude today to swap my 3 week old board for a brand new one. It's nice doing business with that nice French chappy at Bored Lizard at the top of the town, left hand side as you approach the Post Office. Also purchased a pair of board shoes and a second board for mumsy and for Jade to use when she is down here :)
Parked Daisy on the beach at Widemouth overlooking the surf and had a cracking lunch of chicken, ham, leek and tarragon pie followed by victoria sponge. Shutting the world out by pulling the curtains across we had a quick Zizz and then with the tide turning and the surf at its best we donned our wetsuits for the best 75 minutes of boarding that the north coast of my beloved Cornwall can offer. In hindsight there are so many things that we are now enjoying that we could have done years ago...Daisy, wetsuits, boards, I look back at the innumerable times we were restricted to a quick dip in the Atlantic because it got so bloody cold. There is so much more I want to do to, I've always fancied a motor bike and I'm sure mumsy would love to travel in a side car!..and what about mountain climbing and learning to fly? And I don't mean flapping my arms and making like a seagoon. But then again seagoons love Fish and Chips don't they ..TTFN.
