Title: Beltane
Word Count: Exactly 100, for a drabble :)
Rating: G
Author's Notes: The last sentence bothers me immensely. Hm.
Rub your forehead, pull your hair. This spelling test is ridiculous, but you have to get an A to pass. Stupid test. And of course, he’s sitting, staring, waiting until you get the order of the letters right.
The next word is “beltane.” You’ve never heard that word in your life. Stupid test. His lips twist, burning your heart, and he twirls your hair in his fingers. He tells you beltane means “bright fire.”
Rub your forehead, pull your hair again. Maybe it’ll stick this time. A bird screams outside, and you echo it in your head. Springtime is hateful.
