I read this article (
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080917/ap_on_re_us/abused_pigs, sorry, I don't know how to use html or whatever) this evening. It made me rethink my food choices. I don't eat much pork or beef, but I do eat a lot of chicken. I wasted an hour of study time by researching cruelty-free meat/animal product producers online. Mike's dad sent me a link to a video that made me want to become a vegan. WARNING: Not for the faint hearted, I had to look away a few times.
http://www.chooseveg.com/animal-cruelty.asp The way we treat animals disgusts me. I found a list of "certified humane" products online and I'm going to use it when I go shopping tomorrow. I guess this means no more Meijer rotisserie chickens for me. I'm going to check out the new Foods For Living store to see if the prices are reasonable. If I can't find anything reasonable I might slowly start altering my diet toward become vegetarian, and maybe even eventually vegan.
