Two funny conversations that happened in the last few weeks:
Prof: So what do you do, are you a student?
Me: Yeah, I'm a grad student.
Prof: You look like a grad student.
Me: Uh...I'm going to take that as a compliment...
(What gave me away? The bags under my eyes? The crazed look they take on this time of year? The polo shirt & sneakers look?)
Prof: I hear you're going to the symphony tonight.
Me: Yeah, J, J, and I are going, we're excited.
Prof: But you're not taking a young gentleman with you?
Me: You sound like my mother.
Prof: mild look of panic Uh, you know I'm just kidding, right?
