oh mom in the headlites, sing me a song
some people spend their summer vacations in cozumel, others choose more exotic locations such as fresno and it's outlying regions. the trip was both bad and good. bad cuz my folks are getting really, really old and that is really, really tuff.
this is the only picture from our float down the kings river as i was weary to take my new little elph into the icy waters. i will say those waters were wonderful.
i also spent a good amount of time with my dawgs. this is disneyland. not pictured: spencer, agatha, brad, greer, niilo, trevor, lauren, mike, jillian, nikki, waldo, etc.
i made it up to sequoia where ranger elizabeth is now rangering and we dipped in the kaweah as the sun set...
...and then hightailed it to the moro rock trailhead where we set off to the top of this thing.
we sat on the edge, hearts racing from the hike and the fear of falling thousands of feet, and watched the city lites and the shooting stars and the darting bats.
did i mention i bought a truck? that's probably cuz i ended up taking it back. it's a long story. this is said truck parked under a fallen tree.
in the morning we had iced coffee in three rivers. coffee outside of oregon makes me a little sad these days. this particular one was s'posed to have ice in it but all the ice melted when they poured the hot beverage over it. grrrr.
on the way back to portland, i was coerced into spending several wonderful hours with my favorite krissy. i didn't do a very good job of documenting the whirlwind but managed to snap this shot at the last second. san franciscans should be aware of a place called the ramp down dogpatch way. the brunch was only so-so, but what they lack in gourmet they make up for in rustic waterfront dining under the california sun.
so yeah...i'm leaving out ALOT but that is the way it goes sometimes. i am back in the pdx and packing for chicity and the pitchfork fest a week from wednesday. i plan to squeeze in as many goodtimes as possible. you should join me if you wish. xo.
