Do you have any idea how convenient it is that the skirt and petticoat patterns you are using have apparently been drafted to fit a person with your waist-to-floor height? Pretty darn convenient! :)
Incedently, I finally got around to lacing myself into my corset. I had no idea I would squish that much in the middle. It looks pretty good for a first slap-dashy attempt. It's a tad high at the waist and maybe a tad low at the top. But we're talking 1/4 to 1/2 inch so I'm calling it Close Enough. I gotta tell you, a Victorian corset feels very different than a Tudor one. I'm going to need to wear it around a few times to get used to it before the big event. Of course, now that I have my corseted measurements, I can't put off the Frankensteining of my polonaise anymore. I think I'll bring the patterns up to work on Saturday so I can use the big tables to trace and combine on.
