The Girl got in heap big trouble last night

I've been trying to figure out why she kept opening the bottom drawer in the kitchen. Last night I found out. She's been climbing back behind it to the cabinet space. I caught her in the act. I Do Not want her (or him although he would never fit) back in there because I don't know what's there, what's been sprayed back there, whether she can come in contact with anything dangerous. So I hauled out the drawer, hauled out the cat, gave her a smack on the keester, a yell, and let off a jet from the air duster for good measure (they're both afraid of the thing for some reason even though I've never aimed it at them--makes dusting a bit traumatic at times but is great for breaking up fights). I put a yardstick down all the handles of the drawers so that to open one she'd have to open all of them, and even if she managed that she wouldn't be able to fit between drawers to get back into the cabinet. She's tried to open that drawer again but can only get it out an inch or two before the yardstick gets caught in the upper drawers. It's only a matter of time before she starts opening cabinets. I need to get some child-proofing latches to put on at least the ones under the sink (where all the cleaning chemicals are).

Of course, later on she took the wind out of my grievance sails by sitting in my lap for an hour or so--that's something Jett doesn't do and I miss. *sigh* She is so very aggravating and then goes and does something that makes ME look like the bad guy for still being mad at her.

I guess I'll bring out the little carrier again and see if she's just looking for a hidey-hole that Jett can't usurp (he's bad about "taking over" spots she likes). I probably should to take her to the vet, too, as she's been hiding a lot more lately which might mean she is sick.
