The Clockwork Polonaise is one step closer to go!

I found two bolts of the fabric in question at the Frisco Joanns and bought one of them. I discovered that it isn't really black and white--it's more black and slightly-more-off-than-bleached-muslin-off-white. I think it will be ok with something to separate the s-m-o-t-b-m-o-white from the real white. I'm thinking either black silk (of which I have a substantial chunk in the stash) or black velveteen (which I also have in the stash. I think.) or possibly both.

Last night I toyed with the idea of combining the front, collar, and sleeves of TV405 with the back of TV410 to make the polonaise. I've seen similar ideas in my reproductions of NF era pattern catalogs. I think it would give it a bit of a piratical flavor--perfect for steampunk. I need to order TV405 if I want to do that.

Ooo! Look at what Butterick just released: B5232. I like and shall procure a copy at the earliest on sale opportunity. I do like Butterick's Belle Epoch pattern series. Decently accurate, fairly easy construction, and (best of all) pretty.
