Corgan is participating in the "On My Own Time" art competition which is put on by the NTBCA. There is a category for "Fiber Art" which I would interpret to include costuming. I wish I had a knock-out set of garb to enter. I wonder if I could finish Teh Momster's in time to enter it? I don't know what the deadlines or specific requirements are. The announcement was a little vague.

I should get that back out and work on it. I need to do the alterations to the pattern and then one more mock-up of the kirtle. Then I can start the quilt blocks and "quilting" on the forepart. When we were out on site, we went by the Pendragon booth. They are selling surcoats this year with stuffed shoulder rolls. Mom liked those a lot more than any other shoulder option I had shown her for the gown and asked if I would do those instead of the poofy sleeves. As they look to be a hell of a lot easier to do, I said yes. Plus, I can still do the not-narrow sleeves on the kirtle. Mom wasn't too fond of the idea of narrow sleeves ("They look like they'll be kind of tight"), and I was going to do simple wings to accomodate fuller sleeves--but the stuffed rolls will be posher, I think, and still work. But that's a ways down the road. I also still want a new bodice for myself, and maybe another skirt or two. We'll see how it goes.
