and more importantly for historical references....

No words could contain or even begin to describe the amount of passion and joy I feel for what happened tonight. Liberation, unity, hope...all achievements we have been fighting for, for so long... I'm still teary-eyed.

Barack Obama,
44th President-elect of the United States.

edit: also...
I understand. I understand the ignorance and intolerance that has been bestowed upon you by your parents, your pastor, your religion, and your bible. I understand that you aren't able to man up and make decisions based on what's right, as opposed to what's needed or expected of you from your peers. I also understand you decided to vote Yes on Prop 8, completely undermining the constitution, the freedom of life, liberty, and all those who pursue it. I understand the decision you made might have been directly from your heart, and I respect the voice you wish to express, however wrong or ignorant it may be. And I also understand the religious community is mostly responsible for this complete outrage. I don't care who you are, how long we have known each other, where you have come from, your background, or anything else. Please, disassociate yourself from me completely.

Anyone who is intolerant of someone else simply because of a sexual preference is a FUCKING bigot. And some of you might have to look up the term "bigot" because you're so fucking stupid and haven't retained anything from school. The Constitution of the USA is the most important piece of documentation that needs to be followed, understood, and respected. Not some piece of trash book that is misinterpreted by billions of people and then passed on directly as the word of God. If you don't like it, get the fuck out of America. Thanks.
