Yay! Sarah and John are coming March 3-11!!! I'm super excited...Though I asked for March 7-9 off, so I could spend time with them. Dick was totally fine with it, as long as I cleared it with Matthew.
Matthew's reaction, on the other hand was, "That's a lot of days. Let me look at my calendar. Shit! That's not good, but whatever. Fine."
Me: "Are you sure that's not going to be a problem?"
Matthew: "No."
I just know I'm going to be ignored for at least the rest of the week. This is going to be fun. But as Simon told me, it's vacation time, they're not going to call and ask that I take it. I have to ask for it. And it's not like I don't have it coming to me. I'm given a certain allotment each year as long as I don't abuse it. And I certainly don't take frivolous days off. I may leave early for doctor's appointments, but I don't have much choice in that. I get the latest appointments possible so that I don't miss too much work during the day. I wouldn't take any days if they were going to be here a whole weekend, but they're arriving on a Saturday. I can't party on Sunday because of work, and they're leaving early the next Sunday morning. I think once I showed Matthew the days and length of time they are going to be here, he kind of realized that I don't have a whole lot of choice about the days I take off. He could see that I won't have much time with them. But that doesn't stop that fact that he's pissed. Again.
