So Easy Street played at Bulldog Bash at Mississippi State University Friday night. It was lots of fun. There were thousands...literally thousands...of people there (that "literally thousands" part seems like a movie quote or something, but I can't quite place it). There were three stages set up. Sister Hazel was the headlining band on the main stage. I watched them play two songs then went back to the stage that we played on to hear the band that played after us. They were the Patrick Smith Band and they were freakin' awesome.
Saturday we ("we" being Trevin, Dana, Tyler, and myself...Philman, Marcus, and Sarah went home and Matt...I have no idea where Matt was) went to the State/Auburn game. Mississippi State has the worst offense ever.
My favorite inside jokes from the weekend:
"We're opening for Sister Hazel."
"So close I could spit on it."
"A lot."
"LSU sucks."
"Arizona is the best team in the nation."
"Pearl River could beat Mississippi State."
"Dude, did you smart?"
"Pearl River baseball!!"
"Pearl River golf!!"
Good times, good times.
Ah...football season. Was that really Texas that played Ohio State Saturday night? The Saints actually looked pretty good Sunday. Thank God Aaron Brooks is out of New Orleans. Trent Green got smoked! Poor Brett Favre.
I sure am glad I don't have a gig tonight, because I'm sucking at the guitar big time right now. I can't get my fingers to move when and where I need them to. Speaking of gigs, this is the rest of my week:
Justin Patterson and the Lost Causes
Wednesday night, 9 pm...Beechwood Restaurant and Lounge, Vicksburg
Thursday night, 10 pm...Fat O'Harry's, Hattiesburg (with Cary Hudson)
Friday night, 9 pm...Pasta's Pub and Patio, Laurel
Easy Street
Saturday, no idea what time...wedding reception, no idea where
Y'all should come check out some of the Lost Causes shows this week...they're gonna rock (they always rock).
If y'all would, please pray for my family. My greatgrandmother is in very bad shape and she could probably go at any moment. She has Alzheimer's and has been bed ridden for over two years now. Her health has seriously deteriorated the past couple weeks. Prayers would be appreciated.
I think it's now time to play some NCAA on Gamecube. Being that it's on Gamecube means that I'm playing NCAA '05, because they haven't made one on Gamcube since then. I'm leading the Wyoming Cowboys to their first national championship this season. I hope. Then I gotta get back to the SEC. I'll probably take over Vandy after this season.
Peace out.
