Today was an okay day, I actually had something to do. A friend of mine paid me to install a DVD player in his Caddy Seville. For something that should've had only taken me a hour to do, it took pretty much all day.
First I had to drive across town to pick up his car from his job, and bring it to my house so I could install the radio. Once I got the house, I noticed he picked up the wrong dash kit (it makes it aftermarket Head Units fit into the factory dash), so I had to go to Wal-Mat and exchange it, only to find out they were out of stock. So I went to one car audio shop and they were out of stock as well. Then I had to drive back across town to the other shop that was also out of stock. Fortunately, they had a shipment coming in today around 2pm.
When I returned home, I wired the car and made sure that he would be able to use the video function while driving (not recommended). After sitting out in his car for 30 minutes doing the wiring, the smell really started to get to me so I took his car to car wash and vacuumed it out. Then I came home and freezed his car and through in one of my "Tommy for Men" scented Mossy Oak car fresheners. While I was waiting for two o'clock to roll around I washed his car(I have an OCD about dirty cars), and had lunch. Once I called the shop to make sure they had the part I went and picked it up. That's when the hard part started. I spent a whole hour trying to figure out how the dash kit fit because it was designed for several different types of cars, and nothing screamed at me as far as the correct application. But finally, I figured it out and now Jamaine is enjoying his DVD player in his clean car, and he even threw in an extra $20.
So today, I actually had something to do instead of sitting around reading fan fiction and watching CSI all day.
