Promises on Sand

We sit next to each other
Side by side
Watching sunrise and sunsets
Writing our promise on sands in the beach
How lovely
I knew someday it will end
That someday we will both realize something
That there is more to life than this
oh, so much more...
Time fled so quickly
So quickly that I did not realize
How much time I wasted on something
That isnt really worth while
Time fled so fast that I did not see
That we are really living lies and are bound by it
We need to stop...
I know you felt this way too
And I know that you will somehow take action
For you are not you anymore, and i am not me
And so, we both take flight
You going east, and i to the west
I dare not look back
And so do you
I swore to forget, eventually i will
The waves came to wash off our promise
And how ironic for it to remain enscripted in sand
Unfortunate of us for leaving
And not being there to see...
