the unexpected day off...

Jul 11, 2008 10:30

I have to, need to, make good use of today.

So far so good, just about done "interneting", slept well and feel rested.

I've been wanting a day off, a real day off, for a while now. I'm not a fan of working 40 hours a week, every week. (Java hut was 20-30ish, starfucks would try and call me in every day off at 5-6 am (which was probably the primary reason I hated it so much and started hiding my phone in the kitchen) and my schedule was always somewhat random, it's just not something I'm accustomed to) I only have today off because inventory's low at work, so the team I'm on doesn't have all that much to do. I offered to take monday off and was offered today. Eh, who can ever complain about a day off? (Sure it's not paid, but the sleep alone was worth it!)

I've deemed today "cat day". The day I retrieve my cat from my mom's house and move her, hoping that she doesn't escape until *after* I can get her to the vet for a distemper shot next week.

Before I can move her, I need to build a screen for our window (which has been kevin's job for the past month or so) and try to fix up this room the best I can, because she'll be staying in here a few days at least, and there's no room at all. I'm keeping her in here so she can ::meet:: the other cat through the door, and hopefully make it less stressful.

I'm trying to learn to calm down and be less nervous in my quest to become a *real* person again. It's hard to make small talk though... my job is boring, my days are boring, I don't have much to say at the moment folks. Check in a few months, until then let's talk about you.

It's usually easiest to go with ani...

I am a work in progress
dressed in the fabric of a life unfolding

I'm trying to figure out a *real* idea of life and where I want to go/what I want to do/how in the world I can support myself in a positive way. Saving enough money to go back to school might be a good place to start, even if I feel old now.

by the way, if you're a local friend of mine and would be interested in knowing about/coming to some fun events and shows, please email me (ashlingrainbow@gmail.com) I promise to let you know where and when, to the best of my ability.
