It seems the hallmark of sophomore year has been lots and lots of soy oregon chais from Macy's (and yes, I'm there now, drinking a soy chai).
I'm finally discovering Flagstaff, after having been here a year. And along with that comes my ever-growing disdain for Phoenix. I haven't gotten homesick in some time, and my apartment is finally cozy enough after the painting, the kitten, and the fact that we use the heater now.
This town really isn't like anywhere else in Arizona. I'd shoot my foot before living in Tucson, and Phoenix is just chaotic concrete and pavement. Part of this comes from Robert playing shows lately, and meeting new, interesting people. I got into a bar the other night to watch him play, and we ran into a few of the same people who had been at the open mic at Applesauce Teahouse the night before. Maybe it's the same in every college town, and I'm just pumped about my own.
I need to start getting more on top of school, though. I'm letting myself down lately. I'm behind in most of my reading, and I've got 3 impending papers upon me, for which I'm nowhere near prepared. I miss being passionate about philosophy. I'd better get back to that.
I think the next day I have off I'll spend at Lake Mary. I haven't been there yet this year. In fact, I think the last time I saw it was when it was frozen and covered with snow.
Ugh, snow. I suppose that's coming soon. Blah.
This coffee shop is too bustling to think.
Speaking of which, I can hear through my right ear again. Has the world always been this loud? I thought my car was going to fall apart this morning it made so much noise. I guess that's what happens when you finally come to the surface.
Anyway, I've got Philosophy of Science in a few, and I'm thinking about getting another soy chai. What?
