First, let me start off by saying that this is meant to be a totally 100% honest review of my experience using Thrive, and I'm writing it for anyone who is curious about how or if it works.
I first heard of Thrive just a couple of months ago. A lot of people I know have started using it and have since become promoters for it. For the record, I am not a promoter (yet -- don't know if I ever will be). I spent a good month and a half doing research on it because I was curious and wanted to see if anyone had anything negative to say about it. Most of the reviews I researched were positive, with a few negatives mixed in (I guess that's normal for anything). Despite that, I decided I would try it when I could afford it.
It is PRICEY! If you want the supplement, shake mix, and patch you can get it on an autoship order for $150 (that is before taxes and shipping). I decided I didn't want to risk that much being taken out of my bank account every month, so I got the one-time order of the month supply of the pill, shake mix, and patch which came out to a grand total of $201.99 (that includes taxes and shipping, and yes, I may be crazy). I immediately felt buyer's remorse once it was ordered, but a friend of mine who uses it insisted it will be worth it.
It shipped really quickly and I started it this past Wednesday. It comes with a box of 30 packs of supplement pills (one pack per day for the month), a box of 16 vanilla flavored shake mixes, and I'm guessing 30 DFT patches (I didn't count those, I'm assuming it's 30).
THE SUPPLEMENTS
You start off first thing in the morning by taking the supplements as soon as you wake up. They say to take them before your feet hit the ground but I don't think that's totally necessary. These pills are huge! I cannot swallow pills, even small ones, so instead of taking them the intended way, I open each capsule and dump the powder into a glass then fill it with water. I have to choke down the water because it tastes awful, but it is the best way I can think of for me to take it without having to attempt to swallow two huge ass pills.
THE SHAKE MIX
You are then supposed to start drinking your shake 20-40 minutes after the supplements. The vanilla shake mix is actually pretty tasty, I kind of look forward to it in the mornings. You can mix it with ice and milk to make it into a milkshake or add fruit to make it a smoothie or you can mix it with just milk (or water). It's been a tad grainy but that doesn't really bother me. I probably just don't mix it well enough. About the "only getting 16 of those for a month" thing, I assumed you were just supposed to have one every other day, and you can do that. However, I have also heard that you can split each package in half so you can have a shake every day. You also have the option to buy a canister of shake mix which can help stretch it out even longer than a month if you so choose.
THE PATCH
You are supposed to put the patch on in the mornings when you start taking your Thrive and leave it on all day. It is supposed to give you continuous energy and has some other things in it that are supposed to help with losing weight and mental clarity (among other things). You are supposed to replace it each morning with a new patch.

THE FIRST WEEK'S EXPERIENCE
I had the jitters so bad on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, but they subsided after about an hour or so both mornings. I wasn't feeling very much else those first two days but I figured that was normal. Friday and Saturday I had a crazy amount of energy and was unusually hungry for anything. My appetite was so out of control both days, but again I was told that was normal for the third and fourth day. Today is my fifth day on Thrive and it's been a really great day! My appetite has calmed down and I feel like I can focus. I have been feeling really good all day. I actually wanted to exercise this morning which is something I never feel like doing. I am hoping that continues and that I can actually bring myself to go to the gym one day in the near future. I have also been sleeping really well, and I had to go to campus yesterday to take an exam and actually feel like I may have aced it (that doesn't necessarily mean Thrive helped me with that, but it's possible).
My overall hope and expectations for this were to have more energy and to hopefully lose weight. I've been a little disappointed this week just because I haven't lost any weight so far (in fact I've gained a pound) :( I really hope that will change as I continue using Thrive. I've been having to keep telling myself that nothing works overnight and that I need to be patient. I suspect the two days I spent wanting to eat everything had a lot to do with me gaining that pound. I'm still optimistic that it will get better over the next few weeks. Granted, the first week isn't actually over yet and my body is still probably trying to get used to this stuff. I got my "before" photo from day one already taken and I'm hoping I can take an "after" photo soon to show it working for me. I'm looking forward to documenting my progress and sharing it here with those who are interested and want an honest review!
Feel free to ask me any questions or if you are already using Thrive, give me some advice. I'll keep you all updated!
Much love <3
