sequel to blind and stupid.

Sep 30, 2008 23:38

So I'm totally trying to write the sequel to blind and stupid and it's really coming out a lot more angsty than i thought it would.  not that i thought that it would be tons of fun because really sam and nas fighting over alicia really wouldn't be very pretty i can imagine.  but i'm totally second guessing if i should even write it because now i'm kinda feeling like i might make it a little to soapy, which i HATE, doing.  or that it's just going to suck, which is just as bad if not worse.  so i think i'll post like a little preview of what i've got so far and if you want to read it you can and then let me know what's wrong and why i hate it so much.  because seriously i need help! =/

I'm sure there's a lot of grammer stuff wrong here seeing that i wrote all of this in like the last 45 minutes.  so sorry i'll fix all that when/if i finish writing the story.

Home. Shawn was positive that was the best four letter word ever. Ok, so she wasn’t exactly home as in Iowa, but she was back in America and as far as she was concerned that was close enough.

She had been home as in her house for a couple of days but she was in California about to start the tour that she had been looking forward to since her games had ended and Alicia and Sam had come home taking away two thirds of what made up her favorite form of entertainment. Sure Nastia had been around and well Nastia by herself was great. Shawn actually loved her time alone with her best friend but there was a spark missing in the older girl’s eyes when she wasn’t competing for something.

Shawn was still trying to decide if she thought Nas actually really wanted Alicia or if it was simply the thrill of competing and the need to win. Sam was great, amazing, sweet, and Shawn knew that whatever this competition was it meant more to Sam then just competing and winning. She could see it in her eyes. She loved Alicia and she wasn’t putting herself through this just to be able to say she actually beat Nastia Liukin at something. And because of that she still hadn’t picked who she was pulling for.

Nastia walked in the room they would be sharing for the next few days while they rehearsed for their first show and threw her back pack on the empty bed. "Hey Shawnie." She greeted her friend with a huge smile and walked over and gave her a huge hug. "How long have you been here?"

Shawn returned the hug and her smile brightened. "Just a couple of hours. How’s life been?" The two girls had been together all the time for so long leading up to the Olympics, during the Olympics, and the days following the Olympics, any time they had to spend apart seemed longer than normal.

"It’s been good. Fashion week was amazing. I absolutely love New York City." Nastia said her eyes sparkling. She sat on the bed next to Shawn. "I saw you on that show you love." She said bumping the younger girl playfully with her shoulder.

"Oh God, that was horrible." Shawn said blushing. "I love the show but I swear I’m going to leave the acting to you Nas." Nastia laughed with the younger girl. "I did a commercial for Ortega, too. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m sure it’s going to be just as bad."

"Aww Shawnie," Nastia put her arm around the shorter girl’s shoulder and pulled her in close. "You were adorable. I’m sure you’ll be just as adorable in the commercial." Shawn smiled despite the fact that she was getting just a little bit tired of always being the adorable one. Of course she appreciated the compliment but really did these people not know any other adjectives?

"So..." Shawn started after awhile, "Alicia is supposed to be here later today. Sam, too." Shawn looked at her friend trying to gauge where Nastia was coming from on the subject now.

Nastia nodded and stared at the wall for a few minutes seemingly trying to gather her thoughts. This whole thing with Sam was supposed to be fun. It wasn’t supposed to mean anything and it was all supposed to be over as soon as the Olympics were done. But they weren’t in Beijing anymore and she still had butterflies in her stomach at the mere mention of Alicia’s name and unnecessary jealous rage at the mention of Sam’s. Nastia didn’t like it. Not at all.

"They’re rooming together, again." She asked as more of a statement than a question, earning a slow nod from Shawn who still had her eyes glued to her blonde friend. "Ok." Nastia sat quietly for a few more moments before she took a deep breath. "Shawnie, I’m in trouble."

Shawn gave her friend a confused look. Of all the things she expected to her the girl say that was not one of them. "How so?" She asked turning to face her friend pulling her legs up to her chin and resting on them.

"It isn’t...I wasn’t." Nastia ran her hands through her hair a nervous habit she had when something was really for her to say. Shawn sat and watched amazed by this new side of her best friend. "It was all supposed to stop after Beijing, ya know? It was supposed to go away but it didn’t. I swear, I close my eyes and she’s there. I turn on the radio and stupid Justin Timberlake is always on. I turn on my tv and it’s Grey’s Anatomy or Tila Tequlia or something else that reminds me of her. I go to sleep and she’s there, too. It won’t go away."

Shawn couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face as she listened to her best friend talk about their team captain. She finally had her answer. It wasn’t just about winning for Nas and as much as Shawn Johnson loved Sam her money was now on her best friend to get what she wanted. "Then maybe it isn’t supposed to go away, Nas." Shawn said after a few minutes of silence in the room.

"What do I do now?" Nastia asked looking at the sixteen year old like she should know the answer to all things.

Shawn thought for a moment. "Well I’d suggest that you stop moping around in here and find Alicia because chances are she and Sam rode here from the airport together and I’m guessing Sam’s had a lot of time to thing about things and isn’t just going to let you slide in and take the girl."

"Do you think I have a chance?" Nastia suddenly looked concerned about her chances, as if she just now thought about how close Sam and Alicia already were.

"Nas, I’m your person. So I’m on your side. I think if you really want it to work it will. You’ve just got to make it happen."

Nastia raised her eyebrow. "My person? You watch entirely way too much Grey’s Anatomy." She said rolling her eyes playfully at her friend.

"Yeah well so does Sac so I suppose you should get used to it." Shawn grinned at her friend.

"Ugh." Nastia got up and walked toward the door. "I’ve gotta come up with a plan. Thanks Shawnie, for everything." She said with a smile then left the room.

Shawn sat on her bed thinking for a few minutes. It took her about five to realize how crazy things could get in the next few days. Sure it’d be entertaining for her to watch but by the time things were said and done one of her best friends was going to end up hurt.

"Well crap." Shawn laid back on her bed and released a heavy sight. This was already getting to be too much for her.
