New job :D

Friday afternoon I called New Homes & Ideas magazine about a possible graphic/layout intern position. She said that she thought they could definitely use someone, but she didn't know if the position would be paid or unpaid.

I sent her my resume this weekend, but the publisher that she had to get approval from was out of town until yesterday.

I got a call yesterday from Sarah (the art director) and she said she had some good news and some bad news. The bad news was that they had a "Market Services Manager" position open that they thought I'd be great for, but that it was full time. She knew I couldn't take that because of classes starting again.

The good news was that if I wanted it, they were offering me a part-time internship. The bad news attached to that was that it was unpaid because they didn't have enough money in the budget.

I told her I was definitely interested and she told me to get back with her today to let her know the general times I'd be able to come in. She seemed to be looking at 4-7 hours a week. So, it's not much, but she definitely was really excited about me coming in.

She said that she and the publisher were both really impressed with my resume and that if I chose not to take the internship that I should keep in touch with them because they'd really want to consider me for a full time position when I was able to accept it. :) SQUEE!

So I'm gonna call her back in a little bit and talk with her about it. I'm going to keep my job at ACC and go into the NH&I office on the days that I'm not working (which have been numerous this summer). So this way I'll still have some money coming in and I'll be getting some experience. :D
