Taking a break

I've been doing some major seasonal cleaning today. It feels good to *really* get things into shape. I organized the closet in our bedroom, which had previously looked like an explosion had occurred in there. Now it just looks like we have way too much junk, and no where to put it. There's a full-size bed frame, head and foot boards and slats for a twin bed, dismantled crib and mattress, dismantled changing table, totes of seasonal clothes, all kinds of junk that would probably be in an attic, basement, or garage if we had one/any of those. I'm actually kind of glad we don't though. Limited space means limited crap.

I found a bunch of stuff in there that can be thrown away completely. Yay for that. I also found some books that I had forgotten I own. Also a nice feeling.

I need to vacuum, and fold a load of laundry, but Sofie isn't taking a nap. Who knows if I'll finish with the cleaning today like I had planned. Right now she's emptying the drawer next to me of its contents (envelopes, print-outs, miscellaneous papers. She was cleaning it up, but she ran away.

Later, a woman is coming by to put up some of Sofie's old clothes. She put a "Wanted" on freecycle for 12-18 month girls winter stuff. I had a bunch I was going to give to charity anyway, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. So I picked out the things in the size she needed, I hope she is pleased. There are a bunch of outfits and pajamas in there, some random sweat pants and tops.

I've been thinking of putting some of Sofie's baby stuff on Craigslist. Her Excersaucer, bouncy seat, plastic music set by Parents, a bunch of stuff I shoved in her closet when I realized she was too old. I've thought about putting her baby swing up on there, too. It was a lifesaver when she was little and I needed to take a shower, or put her somewhere for a minute. But now that I'm a babywearer, I don't know if I'd want/need it for subsequent child(ren). We I could use the money.
