oh man

Saturday night, around 8pm, Phillip and I left Missouri. Our 9-hour trip to Bossier was perfectly normal and fine for the first 8 hours. A little after 4 am, we were both really tired. I was asleep in the passenger seat; he was asleep at the wheel. I woke up to a lot of spinning and flying dirt. We ended up in a very steep ditch, upside down. There was a lot of confusion, and a little bit of panic, but we were fine. There was an awesome couple who stopped to help us, and the police and ambulance showed up soon after the accident. The only physical problems with us are some small scratches on our legs. It's terrifying to think how much worse it could have been. We are so lucky. My car is gone. I'll get another one later this week, probably. I'm actually kind of scared to drive again. That probably won't last long. I don't know. It'll be a while before I hit the interstate again. Scary.

Kids, please wear your seatbelts. They are so awesome. Just because you're a safe driver doesn't mean the person next to you is. And accidents do happen, every day.
