Happy Mardi Gras! This is the first time in so long when I've actually had to go to school on Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras should be a national holiday! They've had all these "Mardi Gras parties" up here to celebrate and all I can say is Birmingham just doesnt know how to party like Mobile does. Which is why I was so glad I got to go home this past weekend. I pretty much just told sorority that they could kiss my ass because it'd MARDI GRAS! Anyways, I came home Thursday night and enjoyed real food again. Mmmm nothing like the fast food I eat up here thank god. So Friday I went to lunch with my parents at Los Rancheros and we talked about moving me into my condo. I'll officially be moved in a week from today. I'm so excited. I swear the people at Pier One, Bed Bath and Beyond and Pottery Barn are tired of me going in there all the time. But back to my w/e, Friday night I met Rachel Kopf, Lauren Blair and two of Rachel's sorority sisters and we went to the parade. It was the Krewe of Columbus and I hate to say it but I was greatly disappointed. I guess the people on the float werent drunk enough to throw ungodly amts of stuff. So after the parade we went to Pat and DeeDee's. I had never heard of it but it is so much fun. It's right across the street from UMS Wright and they will take any ID you give them. So Blair gave me hers since I dont have a fake. It was so much fun. I didnt really know a lot of ppl since it was mostly UMS and St Paul's but it was still awesome. Then we went to Soul Kitchen and all of McGill was practically in there. The weirdest thing happened: Lauren Cowan came up to me and gave me this huge hug and told me she had missed me so much blah blah blah and then she started reminiscing about how we were best friends in 6th grade. That was like 7 yrs ago!!! It was so weird bc we never talked in high school. It's so crazy how cliques dissolve once high school is over. It makes you realize they never should have existed anyways. But anywho Soul Kitchen was a blast as always. While we were waiting in line, Kopf stole a wristband from the guy's pocket and gave it to me so I could buy everyone drinks if they didnt take their fakes. Now I remember why i like hanging out with rachel so much. Saturday I was too hung over to do much of anything but my parents made me go furniture shopping with them. Not like I could see the furniture since it was spinning around the room the whole time. So I hope I chose a nice bedroom set for the condo. Oh well! Sunday my family and I went to a Super Bowl party in Magnolia Springs. Go Patriots! But that was pretty much my w/e. Now I'm back in B'ham wishing everyone was up here. Miss yall!
