SRS PROBLEM. NEED HELP.

MY HOUSEMATE IS MISSING.

OK, here's the story.
She left early (like 5am) on the 22nd of October to go to Madrid.
I assume it is with friends.
(In hindsight, not asking enough details about this trip is probably the stupidest thing I've ever done.)
She told me she'd be back on the 28th (last Sunday).
It is now Friday the second of November.
She has not yet come home.

I called her cell on Tuesday (30th), and it rang once then went to voicemail.
I didn't leave a message, but text her to get back to me ASAP so we'd know she was OK.
I have not yet received a reply.
This is really starting to freak me out.
If she were NOT in the country, the call probably wouldn't have gotten through in the first place, so I'm thinking she's back in the UK.  But if she is, why didn't she come home?  Why didn't she contact us in any way?  WHY DID SHE NOT ANSWER MY CALL???!!!
I can think of several possibilities.
None of them are encouraging.
Either she couldn't answer because it was inconvenient, or she couldn't answer because she never got the call.  In which case, who the heck has and is using her cellphone?!

Our landlady (who lives with us btw) says she'll give it till the weekend.
I'm not so sure that's a good idea.
On the other hand, there's not much we can do.
We don't know WHO she went on holiday with, we don't have any contact numbers to ring, we don't even know how to get in touch with her parents.  The only thing I have is the gym she goes to.
This may seem weird...it's not like we didn't get along, we did. But we had different schedules so had little time to talk.  We basically just shared a house.  Our landlady didn't think to ask her to leave a lot of personal info either, as all her family is abroad.
Crap.
I really should have asked more questions.
But as things are, what should I do now?
Wait till the weekend and hope she shows up? (This seems so passive)
Or go ask around at her gym and try to find SOMETHING?
But I have classes to go to, and a whole day of lectures on Saturday that I can't miss.
I don't think our landlady will be willing to do detective work on her own.
And for some reason I am hesitant to suggest calling the police.  Like I don't want to jinx it >_<
Please help.
Any suggestions or ANYTHING.
So I can stop feeling so confused.
G*d.
This is so f**ked up.
