How do YOU see the world?
(How's the world for Yanquees) And I'm not trying to offend anybody. I just wanna use it to start this.
I was thinking about this picture a friend showed me. I first I just laughed and joked about patriotism and love for our forgotten side of the world, before he showed me another, and another one. Anyway, this one let me thinking about all that speech about tolerance and acceptance. People talking about accepting the sexual minorities when they can’t cross a word with people of different color or religion, leave alone the neighbour country.
My actual class is full of dickheads who think Africa is still a continent where only indigenous live hunting zebras. WTF?! Do you know what Globalization and Imperialism is? And that kind of people boast about their wisdom and open mind?
Closed-minded exist in every part of the world, intolerant people as well. How far tolerance reaches? I can’t believe in tolerate everything. I can’t tolerate Nazism, I can’t tolerate extremist people, hell, I even have issues with the use of the words America and American! For me, are the continent and the people who live in that continent, respectively. I can’t be so cynical and say “yeah, I accept everything as long as they don’t come near to me” that’s NOT tolerance, that’s cynicism. Before judging other people, why don’t start for yourself?
And out of toppic: How the hell could I possible dream with somebody I met in LJ if I never have seen a picture of him?! Hmmm, humind mind is such an interesting thing. Now I wish I could remember how my mind pictured Nolan, because Alan was pretty clear for me! (and Haykumi too *laughs*)
