well, I'm alive! I survived my first solo Houston excursion. and it was quite a trip to say the least! Houston is a fuckin bad-ass place! I cant wait to move there!
MY adventure went something like this:
WEDNESDAY- I leave at the ass-crack of dawn without an ounce of sleep the previous night. after getting on the interstate, I realize I forgot my map... but intelligent me decides to wing it... I got to Houston (the city) but since the city of Houston is 634 square miles... I soon found myself ina pickle. I made an unwise, but desparate decision after a while and pulled over to ask for direction ina sketchy part of town. the only clothed person I could find was an elderly mexican man... I was in trouble to say the least. he only spoke spanish and just kept saying "tienes dinero? tienes dinero?" as all of you know, I suck at spanish... but understood that! so i drove off as quickly as traffic would allow and got back on the highway. (oh btw, my cell phone was dead- im not that stupid lol). I was lost, scared and on the brink of panic AND I was surrounded by semi trucks on every side of me... I was about to intentionally make a traffic vialation in front of a cop in order to find respectful assistance... when a large green sign read "Galleria exit 1/2 mile". *the clouds parted and the heavens sang* My hotel was across the street from the Galleria! I took the exit and was there in notime, despite a broken traffic light, rush hour, 2 bad encounters with one-way streets, and an angry pedestrian who hit my car window. I checked into my hotel and took a shower, ordered room service, and went to sleep... it was 4 in the afternoon, but I had had enough houston for that day...
THURSDAY- I over slept orientation, but I couldnt the campus anyway... so I guess it was for the best. so I decided to go shopping instead. the Galleria was hosting an exhibit of John Lennon's art work, so I went to that. it was pretty cool & I went to Anthropoligie. the manager there offered me a job so I took an application. I dont know if i wanna work there though.
FRIDAY- I woke up with a very cute boy kissing me... yay. it was travis and I knew he was coming, so dont worry lol. we panned for him to come over and stay with me the last night, but no one knows about it so sssshhh. with his help, however, i finally found my college and met with my advisor, so I got all the stupid shit taken care of. then me and trav went to the mall (aka the Galleria btw) and we both get recruited into Holliser to fill out job applications and to attend orientation. travis was more exited that i was, he wanted to work there in the first place. I, on the hand, find Hollister to be a cheaper imitation of Abercrombie&Fitch. well, we sat through orientation with 10 or so other semi-attractive legal teenagers and I was so bored. I was wrong about Hollister though, its not cheap, their clothes cost the same as Abercrombie's and both stores are owned by the same people. travis is going to take the job (he already picked out his free-destroyed-denim) and he's workin out his hours with the supervisor. did you know that all major clothing stores in the Galleria have undercover bouncers??? yea! they pay people to pretent to be natural and catch people shoplifting, then beat them up! its insane! anyway.. this is getting really long so im gunna wrap it up...
SATURDAY- me and trav eat at chipotle and I get into my car to head home but my car wont start. oh shit. I come up with the excuse that travis was in town for the day, we went out to lunch, my car wouldnt start... so rode home with him. I got away with it too, my grampa is gunna have his ppl pick up my car monday and he's just grateful that travis was in the right place at the right time... heh. I guess my life isnt that bad. in fact, im kind of exited... every little thing is gunna be alright.
miss ya'll
