(no subject)
man, i haven't updated in forever. two months, i guess. oops.
life is good. i'm student teaching world history at south caldwell with an awesome teacher. i thought student teaching would be nerve-wracking, but so far so good. i can't say enough good things about the teacher though... he's made life really easy... even with six(!) classes of kids a day. i'm supposed to start teaching in about two weeks, but my teacher thinks i'm ready to start next week... by the end of my first week, i was team-teaching with him... so it's kind of exciting. i've already gotten a couple of lesson plans finished... and we've been discussing future lesson plans. i bounced some ideas off of him and then he noted that he might want to use a few of those plans later. it's exciting. the only sucky thing is the gas... i've applied to a dozen places in hickory hoping to get a job to pay for it...
the boy situation is awkward. the boy i mentioned in the last post has commitment issues (not being exclusive to one person, but having a girlfriend in general). we've been on a bit of a "break," but i have a feeling that his stubborn, change-resistant lifestyle will get the best of him and he won't be able to make time for a girl. it's a weird non-relationship relationship that i've gotten myself into. i'm lame.
i went on a cruise with jenn dean & her family over Christmas break. that was exciting. we left from Port Canaveral, FL then went to Ocho Rios, Jamaica (where Jenn & I climbed a waterfall) then to Georgetown, Grandy Cayman (where i snorkled for the first time, accidentally swam with a barricuda and kissed a stingray--with pictures & a DVD of me doing it to prove it), then our last stop before returning stateside was Cozumel, Mexico (it was really cool, but i didn't do much eventful here). the cruise was amazing and i wanna do it again. jenn & i are trying to plan a 4 day cruise to the bahamas (and it's under $300 for the ticket).
that's about all i got... i'm kind of boring. yay.
