Can I please take a quick breath? Thank you so very much. Yesterday was the first day of Script Frenzy and I for one was a complete and total mess. Foremost because my laptop charger (almost four years old) decided that it did not want to work. Also, while I had a pretty good idea of how episodes two and three would go (a cross between a sitcom and a drama about five girls from diverse backgrounds who become friends when they meet at college, the series follows their adventures [remember the concept rule]), the pilot is a little more shaky.
Luckily my friend and coworker, Martha, had a spare charger at her house nearby and was gracious enough to let me borrow it until I can afford to buy a new one (Thank you, Martha!) so I have been able to spit out almost four pages (not counting the title page) despite unusually high number of people who came in today. That still leaves me a bit behind (I'm supposed to have 6.66 pages by the end of the day), but I still have plenty of time to make today's quota and hopefully I'll get into my groove and once I'm past the pilot the other episodes will come more easily. I'm already finishing my third cup of coffee for the day and maybe after three more I'll have a good chunk of Act I finished.
Until then, take five,
- A. Melosa
