I have been recently been pulled into a previously avoided world by a fellow writer who has delighted in it for years now. This world is FanFiction. I have always been very wary of writing things that aren't truly my own creations but lately I have had a few plot bunnies wriggling in my brain that will not be silenced and are based off of previously existing worlds.
One such world, I shy to admit, is Neopia. Yes, you heard me right. I'm writing a story that is set in a child's game/website (and yes, I have my own neopets and everything). It is a guilty pleasure but it's true (and probably one of the reasons I don't write as much as I should). I have written the first chapter, though I haven't yet uploaded it to FanFiction. It is sure to be interesting if nothing else.
Another story that has been brewing uses characters from "The Mummy" series. I'm still working out the kinks, but I will likely be writing it shortly as well.
I have also finished my script I started in April and because it is still short I have decided to take it to a pro to help me rework things and expand it into something registerable. I'll let you know how that turns out as well.
My "Chronicles of D'Erthea" is also shaping up bit by bit, though like everything else, it has to be done on breaks from work, classes and academic research (which, unfortunately, seems to be piling up rather quickly).
Now I am off to write (after I finish Chemistry homework),
