I woke up at 10am on Wednesday 02.10.2010 with a lot of back pain, but it was not consistent all I felt was extremely tired and uncomfortable. I took some tylenol PM and went back to sleep for the entire day until 5pm. When I woke up I continued to have sporadic back pain that would sometimes radiate to the front of my stomach, the pain was very uncomfortable but being my first pregnancy and everyone saying if they are contractions you will 'just know' I had no idea since it was mostly back labor. They never got consistent so I thought it was false labor or just extremely bad braxton hicks (which i never had during the entire pregnancy so I also didn't know what they felt like)
It was an extremely bad snowstorm outside and no cab companies were open so finally at 10:30PM after 12 hours or what I thought was false labor JohnPaul went outside to dig out the car so I could at least go have the baby monitored since I have gestational diabetes and he wasn't moving as much the whole day.
Once he got the car out I drove us both to the hospital since he doesn't drive. I get to the L&D floor and I was already 5centimeters Dilated with 100% effacement and at a -1 position. Since I was 10 days early I had not finished all my third trimester blood work (the appointment to have the blood drawn was actually the day I gave birth)
I was finally moved to my delivery room at 1:30 am while still waiting for the blood test results to come in so I could have my epidural I got everything into the room and went to the rest room got back into bed and HAD TO PUSH no and I mean NO TIME AT ALL for any pain medication, COMPLETELY NATURAL birth with less than an hour of active pushing. He was born at 2:47AM
