Sneaking back...
I know it's been 6 months, and I know I said I'd update every day. It didn't happen. But I've got to get back into it sooner than later. With Christmas coming soon I will need to use my LJ more and more as life gets busier. So how's about a quick update?
*No more Ashley. Replaced with a Plymouth Voyager - of all cars out there - that we bought from the Hickingbottoms in March
*Traded with Jose for AB/005 in April.
*Wedding plans continue at an astonishing pace. Amanda now has her wedding dress. We have selected a location, just need to pay for that. Things continue to go swimmingly. Daily drama comes and goes but the love only grows through and often because of it.
*Jennifer, manager at AB, is leaving the company for Colorado next Friday. I've applied for her position. Frankly I don't think I'll get it. I've heard talk that Cassy (manager at Florence and the assistant that immediately preceded me at CV) wants the job. On top of that, promoting from the same store is very rare. Ultimately, I am tired of the drama and politics. I'm trying to balance very strongly wanting the promotion with my understanding of the situation. There are many at the location that would love to see me get it. I try to hide my enthusiasm, especially around them. The last thing that needs to happen is for someone else to get the job and then come into a department that is marginalized and polarized against them. That's just plain counter-productive. And yet I find myself becoming the more highly liked and respected manager. Respected - great. But I would honestly rather not be liked that way. I don't need to be hated but I would rather keep personal emotions and feelings out of it. It makes things smoother. Either way, I just want the politics over.
This is a good start. It's about time that I hopped back in.
