Since only like 2 people read this, I feel little need to post, but what the hell?
The band got a full weekend of studio time at minimum wage studios in Richmond the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Thanksgiving. This should give us the chance to actually record (well) our whole set and get radio edits for it. Clark, our bassist has been in contact with several stations on Sirius and XM and thinks we can get some play there. I'm also going to try and use some of my contacts in Richmond to see if we can get some radio play in the city.
Clark also shined when he met another band that plays Alley Katz every other week or so. He got to talking with them and now they want us to play with them a couple times.
It also looks like we're going to be part of a big St. Patricks day showcase in Hampton. The working title for the show is St. Punktricks day.
We're still looking for a new lead guitarist that will work with us on taking the music in the new direction we're trying to go, but we're finding it fairly difficult to land someone who's reliable and willing to listen, not take control (open invitation for anyone who wants to try out).
I also met a guy who knows Mike Ness from Social Distortion. He's going to try and hook us up next time Social D's in town and possibly even lobby for an opening position for us. I'm not really hopeful for that, but I'd love to meet Mike as he's one of my biggest influences musically.
All in all things are going really well, it just took forever to get to this point. Who knew it would take 4 years as a band to finally get other people in the industry to start taking us seriously?
