Two updates in two days - GASP!
Hehe. Well day one is done, and while I sit here typing this and sipping my tea, we are under way! I most likely will not be updating this journal on a daily basis, most like it will be weekly, but day 1 is important =)
So how did I find it? I was a little peckish now and again I'll be honest, but I know it's probably because I'm used to eating more than I need to. If I'm still feeling this peckish feeling after a couple of days I will adjust things to suit. I don't agree with making yourself hungry to lose weight. It's not healthy and besides, it doesn't work! It's been shown that if you starve yourself your body's natural reaction is to hold onto anything it has stored because it is preparing for a longer stretch without food. Then, when you do eat again, your body immediately holds on to what you eat because it still thinks there's a risk of no food coming. The moral of that? Don't starve yourself! =)
They say you should have little and often, rather than a lot rarely. So I had something usually within four hours of my last meal/snack. Drinking tea or water helped to curb the peckish feeling most of the time between food, except when it was coming close to dinner time. Think my stomach knew food was on the way hehe.
So, any interest on what today's food actually was? Little note, I do love chicken so that's probably going to be the meat I have most of the time hehehe. Also, for week one at least, my meals probably won't change much. Reason? I'm a little lazy when it comes to trying new things, but when I have got one meal working I will try more =) Going to test different ones during weekends when I have more time to prepare.
Breakfast:
Müllerlight yogurt, a small banana and green tea.
Mid-morning snack:
12 seedless grapes
Lunch:
1 cooked chicken breast, lots of mixed salad, 1 tablespoon of Hellman's lighter than light mayonnaise and green tea
Mid-afternoon snack:
1 small apple
Dinner:
1 chicken breast seasoned with black pepper, couscous, raw carrot, 2 teaspoons of Uncle Ben's Thai Sweet Chilli sauce, 1 cup of tea with semi-skimmed milk.
Other:
Another cup of tea with semi-skimmed milk.
What can I say? I love my tea hehehe. The reason the carrot I had was raw was because I prefer them like that, nice and crunchy =) Oh and I cook my chicken by putting it into tin foil with a small bit of water and putting it in the oven for 20-30 mins (depends on how big the piece of chicken is). The dinner only took half an hour to make, with the chicken taking the longest. It's not hard and doesn't take long, so it can fit into anyone's time table =)
I think I've rambled long enough haven't I? I always get carried away typing these things =) I'll leave you with my stats for today, but I will point out that the difference in my weight from yesterday is mainly due to the fact I weighed myself in the morning today, while it was night time yesterday. Your weight can be different by 1-2 lbs daily anyway, so it's not like one day has made a 1.4 lbs change already hehehe. Ahh if only =) Anyways, going to stick with morning times from now on since I'll be up for work so will be around the same time =)
Talk soon everyone!
