Disney! Stolen DA update :)

Aug 26, 2008 13:15

Okies so seeing as this place needed an update, and I already had this typed up, time to do the lazy copy and paste job! Hehe ^^

WARNING: IMAGE HEAVY

There wasn't even much writing to be done really! Okies, for those of you who are interested, as the title says this is about my trip to Disney in Orlando Florida. There are waaaaaaay more photos than this but heck I can't show them all, hehe. And none of the photos here have yours truly in them, as I don't want to ruin them, ha!

Alrighty, so let's get this show on the road! Roll on the Disney trip! Warning, I tend to ramble on ^^' Oh and before I forget, my pal that I was with worked in Disney a few summers back so yay for knowing all the tricks! Managed to get into two of the parks for free ;) Connections!

Thursday 7th August
My friend (who I call Am) and I rose from our slumber at the crack of dawn (literally, 5AM is a yuck time to be getting up) and got a taxi to the airport (we took the lazy option, hehe). Our flight was around 7-ish, and while I was falling asleep while we taxied to the runway (head bobbing and all) as soon as the wheels of the plane left the ground I was wide awake! I usually have no problem sleeping on planes, boats, cars, you name it, but for some reason not that day! So I kept myself happy with looking out the window and reading. Spotted some ice forming on the window when we were midway through our flight so (being random) I took a photo of it ^^'

And some of the perdy clouds

We landed in Orlando and took the Disney Magical Express to our resort; Saratoga Springs & Spa

When we arrived there, our room wasn't ready but we found out that we'd been upgraded to a better room. Nice! Seeing as we didn't want to be stuck hanging around waiting for a room while time ticked away, we left our bags and made a run for our first park, Epcot! Now the 'golfball' (as I like to call it) was fun to take photos of from different angles, so here are a few! I'm by no means a professional photographer but I think some of these turned out cool.

After some wandering around and ride taking (I'm not going to list all the rides and such, you'd be here all day!) we entered into the area where they have loads of different countries represented in different sections. (Aw no Ireland, sniff sniff) Am knows how into anime I am so one of the first stops was to the Japan and China sections!

Am and myself each got a fan in Japan (*coughsadrhymecough*) and they wrote our names on them in Japanese, which was very cool ^^ I also got one of the Chinese umbrellas with my name in Chinese on it. I know they have a certain name but I can't remember them right now... Anywho, my fan is the green one and Am's is the purple one.

Random photo of Epcot

That night we went to the Pleasure Island part of Downtown Disney (after going around the shops there) and we found the Cookes of Dublin! For those of you who don't know, Dublin is the capital of Ireland. I couldn't resist a photo, and we actually ended up eating there too. Yummy food!

We finally made our way back to the resort around midnight and got checked into our room, which was more like an apartment! There was a kitchen, sitting room, shower room, bath room (with a huge bath) and loads more! And it was fully equipped with anything we might need. Oh and did I say how the bed was HUGE?! I mean massive! It's bigger than the room I live in for college XD Which, to be honest, isn't hard to do *lives in a box... no really it's true* That photo above with the fans and umbrella has the bed in it, but it is bigger than it looks in the photo. I want that bed *luffs*

Okies, so next random photo! Am was going to have a bath and while it was filling the bubbles built up, and look! They look like a top hat!

Well I thought it was funny ^^'

Random photo of the cool lights around Saratoga Springs. Everything was themed for horse racing. We were staying in The Paddock area of the resort, hehe. I stayed in a field!

Friday 8th August
We were up around 8 and off to Typhoon Lagoon for the first half of the day (the water park). I didn't bring my camera so no photos here. To sum it up - it was great! And oddly enough, the lazy river (where you sit in an inflatable ring and just follow the current around) turned out to be the most fun! Probably because I was Am's 'propeller' and spun her all over the place XD Good fun!
Throughout the weekend we got caught in a few thunder storms, but sure was only a bit of rain! Okies, so a lot of rain X3

Back to wash off then off to Magical Kingdom around 5PM! The park was open until 3AM and we didn't leave it until around 2:30AM, hehe. Loooooong day but so worth it! Now I took photos galore of the castle and of the fireworks show 'Wishes'. Needless to say the photos for the fireworks aren't the best, but here's a couple anyway (along with an overdose of the castle)

Jack Sparrow anyone?

The Irish part of 'It's a Small World', as tacky as ever! With it's rainbows, red hair and pots of gold ^^'

I love that dopey looking hippo, haha!

Wishes

The parade that I can't remember the name of right now...

Anyone remember these guys? Fantasia for the win!

More of the castle.

I like how the next two came out the most I think ^^

Tomorrowland

Space Mountain

And that ended the second day at Disney! We didn't get to bed until half four and were up again at eight to not much sleep was had, hehe. No harm!
We got caught in another thunder storm earlier in the day and once when I was running for cover I lost my shoe in a puddle. Hehe, aw, a little Cinderella moment in Magical Kingdom. Well if it were to happen anywhere that was the place! No price charming for me though, just had to go back into the puddle and get it myself XD Got nice and wet!

Saturday 9th August
Almost there! I've started cutting down a lot from the day one entry above. It's long enough without ranting, hehe.
So Animal Kingdom was first! Met with Am's friend who's working there and I got in for free with her. The Mount Everest ride was unreal! One of the best! But the better roller coasters came later in the day.

The cool tree with all the animals carved into it.

A little croc from the little Safari trip we went on.

I'm getting tired so going to keep it to a minimum, hehe. I've got to head to bed soon so I can get up at half six for work.
We finished with Animal Kingdom and headed for the last park, the Disney Hollywood Studios (personally, best park!)

These guys did an unreal car stunt show! Loved it!

Tower of Terror, oh man I love this ride so so so much! This is a must for anyone going to Disney. Went on it three times! If you can go when it's dark out, makes it so much better!

This is another great ride, the Rockin' Rollar Coaster (I think that's the right name). Along with Tower of Terror, this is my fave. Two class rides in the one park that are musts! 0-160mph in seconds!

Fantasmic show (I think, ha! I might have messed the names up)

Aaaaaaaaaand we're done!

Sorry that you were probably bored by that, and if you managed to read the whole thing, clap on the back for you! XD We headed off early Sunday morning to catch out 11AM flight and then back to normal routine then.
To there you go! Hope it wasn't too bad, hehe.

Laters!
