I'm flying to Polland, then to Copenhagen...TOMORROW! I've made arrangements to meet with Sohpie and Linda at the airport very early so that I have time to get through customs, find Terminal 3, say goodbye to the fam., and to control our own seating arrangements. In my carry-on I've packed an MP3 CD player (courtesy of Chad), a change of clothes, my purse, gum, a bottle of water, some toiletries, reading materials (nothing fancy unfortunately, just some guidebooks and magazines), and all the essential documents for travel-passport, tags, Eurail, Health insurrance, plane tickets. I've prepared myself for hot weather, rainy weather, and semi-formal functions. I'm sure after I ask Sophie to examine my pack she'll tell me how badly I failed.
I'm still not 100% stoked yet because there is still too much in the way of me and that plane, but once I'm buckled in an uncomfortable upright position, and once the flight attendents deliver their 'in case of an emergency' speal, I'm sure I'll freak out beyond belief. Maybe there is still a part of me that belives this trip isn't happening.
I've tried my best to erase all the romantic images of Europe I've built in my head over the years but, to be honest, I'm expecting to enter a world that's Moulin Rouge meets Amelie meets Hemingway's A Moveable Feast. At least I'm anticipating the shock of reality. And by reality, I'm refering to all realities. My heart will ache for Chad on a daily/minutely basis.
I'll do my best to update with interesting tales and pictures as often as possible. As for right now, I'm too tired to write anything more.
