74 - Freaky friday
November 13th, TV (dubbed)
I remember when Lindsay Lohan was adorable and not a drug addict. This movie is from that era. And she's great. She's super annoying, in a way only teenager can be, and doesn't even realize.
I wasn't expecting to laugh that much at this movie. Some scenes were really hysterical, and I especially liked the mother explaining her daughter how to pretend being a shrink. Both actresses managed quite well the "trapped in someone else body" thing and the body language added to the fun of that movie. It wasn't a masterpiece, but I really LAUGHED watching it, and I wasn't asking so much.
Most of the time you saw him, I was all "aaaaaw pooor Gibbs". I loved seing Mark Harmon being all cute and generally loveable. He's great.
I was informed that Lindsay Lohan love interest in this movie is supposed to be cute, and very popular in his own show. I don't even remembre who that guy was, but I thought he was ugly. More Mark Harmon, please.

75 - The Dark is Rising (Les Portes du Temps)
November 21st, theaters (dubbed)
I don't think I have ever seen a movie with that many plot holes. If I did, I repressed it, and I can understand because this movie kept contradicting itself. Excepted Will, the main character, no one makes any sense. All those Old people, they are very nice costumes, but in all their waiting, they couldn't do ANYTHING ?? At the end, Ruth Fisher complains that the hero didn't thank them for what they did for him when they did exactly nothing. Not that Will himself did much with his superpowers.
Of course, most of the plot twists were obvious from the begining.
There were some pretty images, nice use of shadows and black for example but it was shot, and morever, edited in a really annoying way. I'm pretty sure it could trigger a seizure if you're epilepetic, and at least, it gave me a strong headhache.
I'd also like to see a movie, for once, when the images about the whole world being destroyed doesn't include the Statue of Liberty. I'm sick of it, I can understand the "OMG WHOLE WORLD COMING TO ITS END" without the damn thing. I know it's OMGSYMBOLIC but it's stupid.
Anyway, the only satisfying part of the movie, and the one I went for was CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON although it was dubbed and I'm sure he would have been better with his own voice (I saw it dubbed). He was kinda creepy, and awesome, but I'm clearly not objective, so keep your money for a better movie.
