Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
July 23rd, theaters
The movie adaptated from my least favorite Harry Potter book. I was tempted not to see it, but my sister wanted to go, and obviously ALAN RICKMAN !!
I was really bored during this movie. HP movies aren't that good, and too condensed, but at least I enjoyed GoF (which was great after the horrendous PoA). Here, the adaptation was not that bad. Obviously, lots of things are missing, but globaly it was acceptable. But it lacks all the magic the books, same as every other movie. There are funny things, and I enjoyed parts of it (SNAPE !!!) but it was generally boring.
In the choices they had to make and I regret the most : McGonagall. She's awesome in this book, and you don't see most of her in the movie é_è
I also HATE Movie!Hermione. She's one of my favorite characters in the books, and I can't stand her in the movies. She's... a different character.
Random things I liked anyway
- The girl playing Luna Lovegood is amazing. That's exactly the character and I loved her hair
- BELLATRIX LESTRANGE !! Not a surprise here, I like Bellatrix, and I like Helena Bonham Carter
- The CGI was great ! The settings too, I really liked the Departement of Mysteries
- The Patronus scene was the prettiest one. I didn't want it to end because it was so shiny. Yes, I realize that makes me Cho...
- Movie!Lucius cracks me up. Really, everytime he was onscreen I was crying with laughter. I don't really know why. I think it's the hair.
- The twins exit is my favorite moment in this book and I loved it here too *o* pretty fireworks
- I hate Umbridge so much. She really got on my nerves in the books, and Imelda Staunton did it really well
- You may not like him, Minister, but you can't deny : Dumbledore's got style.
- SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPE !! Alan Rickman does a wonderful Snape and as I said, it's the reason I see the movies, even though they always disappoint me.
There was not enough Snape. There's NEVER enough Snape. But I liked their rendition of his worst memory.
- I like Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort. I like Voldemort too.
not rated - I can't see it without comparing it to the book, and it's not good.
