Two Preacher's Kids...Smile for the Camera!

Good morning to everyone who stops by! We are supposedly getting ready for snow here, and the wind is picking up outside. It's hard to believe a week has passed since our total immersion S&H, DS&PMG&AF weekend in Burbank, California. The weather in Burbank was a bit like a sine wave, up one day to sunny and warm, down the next to chilly and overcast. But the mood inside the venue, and outside where four Torinos dominated the parking lot was nothing but uplifting.

I had decided prior to the show that I wanted a photo with David Soul. There was a bit of kerfuffling going on as we organized ourselves into the lines for the photo opportunities. The line was serpentine and l-o-n-g, but spirits were high and light-hearted! There was this very tall woman, Miss Bossy Boots, who was trying to herd us into the right sort of groupings, but her instructions were imprecise and her social skills needed a bit of work. Translation - she barked at us in a rather haughty and unhelpful way. However, we are sturdy and determined, so we persevered.

When it was my turn, clumsy oaf that I am, I thought I had stomped on David's foot and harmed him. I apologized to him, as he looked so distressed. There was some background action, and I think Miss Bossy was saying something...but it was a moment of confusion. I said to him, "Mr. Soul, I am sorry if I hurt you-very sorry." Actually, he told me, he wasn't distressed and I hadn't hurt him - he was laughing. Well...okay then! And we took a photograph together - his arm around my shoulder (yay) and at the end, as I thanked him and wished him all the best, he kissed me on the head. He also told me that I am "very kind."

It was lovely.

Here is my photograph. I don't have a scanner, so I had to take a picture of the picture w/ my camera. There's glare and weird lighting or something, but that is certainly David Soul-the preacher's kid- standing with a very besotted fellow preacher's kid - who was lingering for a moment in a magical, surreal bubble. :-)

I have so been enjoying everyone's posts from the show and memories - it was simply indescribable to be there - to witness them, to meet them.

Good Sunday to all, writes-

-Angel
