Ugh, sometimes the closed-mindedness of people really ruins a good mood. So we were supposed to bring our costume for the Day of the Dead parade to class today, right? I'm really excited about this event, I'll admit it. I love dressing up (lol cosplay), so I've gone all out with this: Got the dress, the hair bows, the basket, a skeleton Toto (they actually sell skeleton dog plush at Target, wtf so morbid, but it works perfectly XD), ruby shoe covers, the whole nine yards.

I understand that none of my classmates are theater majors, and obviously none are cosplayers, so they're not going to be as into dressing up as much as I am. Really, I can understand that. But they could at least try just a little. ONE other person is going to be in full costume. Everyone else is like "Oh I'll just wear this scarf over my regular clothes" or "Oh I'll just wear a hat", or they didn't have any costume idea at all. Not to mention a ton of people have already made lame excuses, and aren't going to go at all. This is an incredible opportunity, we're going to be protesting the budget cuts while being a part of a cultural experience, and there's even a pretty good chance we'll be on tv. Some people in the class got extremely offended at the thought of dressing up and being in a parade, I'm talking dead-set against it. One girl was almost to the point of crying (and then almost became violent) just because the professor told her she should really be a part of it. We're going to be in full white/black face makeup, NOBODY is going to know who we really are, it's going to be during the darkness of night, and there's going to be hundreds of people walking with us. It's the perfect opportunity to get out of your shell a little bit and have some fun. I just don't understand it. Stop trying to be cool and live a little guys, seriously @.@ It won't kill you. Wtf first theater class where I wish everyone was more outgoing, lol.
