My inner domestic goddess...

...let me show you her.

Monday night Megan and I went to yoga, followed by girltime. And then I made dinner (reheated leftovers), took a shower, and fell into bed (owwwwww my obliques).

Tuesday night: cleaned out the fridge, planned meals for the week, went to the bank, filled my gas tank, did the grocery shopping, cooked a bunch of miscellaneous food for the week(brownie bites from a mix, lemon poppy seed muffins from a mix, split pea/ham soup for lunches, homemade gnocchi for the freezer), made dinner (ham steaks w/pineapple chutney, cous cous, green beans), packed lunches, did dishes.

Wednesday night: vacuumed and washed the car, Jason and I went gallavanting (beerbrewing supplies for him, khaki capris for California for me), made dinner (pork chops, mashed potatoes, salad), planted a packet's worth of nasturtium seeds, no dishes cuz Jason did them, awww.

Thursday night: Went on an unsuccessful quest for practical-but-cute-brown-sandals (California again), stopped at Joann's to get some fabric for an apron*, assembled another layer to my seed starting rig **, started a batch of white impatiens, made dinner (Alton's split pea burgers, tater tots), did dishes.

Tonight: who knows?? :) Maybe a break from productivity in favor of socialization and/or sleep.

*I am suddenly obsessed by the idea of Making Aprons. I got a cute vintage-style pattern and some floral-paisley purple-blue calico. And a ton of bias binding. This may be what I do all weekend.

**I'm surprised the neighbors haven't reported me to the cops. There is a set of wire shelves in my sewing room with "grow lights" hanging above seed trays. There were three shelves/lights, now there are five. When you approach our house from the south after dark, there's a distinctive purple glow on the second story. Current content of the seed starting rig: two types of marigolds (approx 1 flat each), a flat of zinnias ("Persian Carpet"), a flat of blanket flower (Gaillardia goblin, dwarf), and two clamshells of nasturtiums (not yet sprouted). Under lights elsewhere in the house: potted up peony roots and dahlia tubers that are growing ENTIRELY too fast, and two plastic bags of impatiens seeds (on damp paper towels) that are genuinely taking the predicted 3 weeks to sprout. More marigolds, nasturtiums, and impatiens are on deck.

I swear this has all got to be spring fever.

On a related note, I'm trying to decide if I want to do a spring cleaning. With the weather still not being terribly cooperative, this might be a good time to get into interior spring-type work, so as to not feel guilty when focus moves almost exclusively outside (...any day now, c'mon sunshine). Anyone else thinking about doing one? We tried doing it all in one day last year (or was it the year before?), and - while we got through a lot - it was just too much. I'm thinking maybe spread it out over a week or two; divide the house into sections and do one a night.
